Q4Wine is great!
PlayOnLinux stopped working yet again because Gentoo uses Python and
WxWindows on different versions at the moment. This will probably be
fixed soon, but I had to find out the hard way that even when running
installed games from the command line Wx is still loaded and it
crashes immediately. So now I can't even play the games.
The solution took a few hours but should be pretty future-proof: I
compile wine (with staging-patches) myself and use Q4Wine instead. It doesn't
depend on a huge bunch of moving-target Python versions but instead
exclusively on the stable Qt framework. That's all. You can also
compile it without Qt for a console-only version without any
dependencies.
I have created a tutorial here for me to remember it
and for anyone else who might find it useful.

The public test forum was spammed by bots, so the only remaining thing is the (now hidden) chan.

2008/08/22 - Disturbing changes in FH-Wedel!
Today I found out that Mr. Neumann and Mr. Kuseler don't work at my university anymore... Either that or they didn't tell us about their plans...
